The B28 name, wordmark, logo, and brand assets belong to B28 OÜ. This notice explains what you may and may not do with them, how third-party marks such as Visa and the networks we support are treated, and how to request assets or report misuse.
Who we are
B28 is a non-custodial crypto wallet operated by B28 OÜ, a private limited company registered in Tallinn, Estonia. Our registry code is [registry code to be confirmed] and our registered address is [registered street address, Tallinn, Estonia, to be confirmed]. You can reach us at hello@joinb28.app. We publish these details in full in our Imprint, as required by the Estonian Information Society Services Act and Article 5 of the e-Commerce Directive. This notice covers our brand and intellectual property only. Your use of the wallet and the website is governed by our separate Terms and Privacy Policy.
Our brand assets
The following are owned by B28 OÜ and are protected by intellectual property and unfair-competition laws:
- The name B28 and any associated word marks and taglines.
- The B28 wordmark and logo, in all colour, monochrome, and layout variations.
- The B28 product names, screen designs, icons, illustrations, and the overall look and feel of the app and the joinb28.app website.
- Marketing copy, images, and other creative materials we publish.
Our rights in the B28 name and logo arise both from use and, where we have registered them, from registered trademark protection. We do not list registration numbers here, and you should not infer the existence, scope, or status of any registration from this notice. The absence of any mark or asset from this notice is not a waiver of any right we hold in it, and we reserve all rights not expressly granted.
How to use the B28 name in text
When you refer to us in writing, please keep the brand recognisable and accurate:
- Write the name as B28. Do not abbreviate it, translate it, hyphenate it, or merge it into another word.
- Use the name as a proper adjective, not as a verb or a plural or possessive form of our company. For example, write "the B28 wallet," not "B28-ing" or "B28s."
- Do not use the B28 name or logo in your own product name, app name, company name, domain name, social handle, or logo in a way that suggests the brand is yours.
Permitted uses: fair and nominative reference
You may make honest, factual reference to B28 without asking us first, as long as you do not imply that we endorse, sponsor, or are partnered with you. European Union trademark law expressly preserves this: under Regulation (EU) 2017/1001 on the European Union trade mark, a trademark owner cannot stop a third party from using the mark fairly to identify or refer to the owner's own goods or services, provided the use is in accordance with honest practices in industrial and commercial matters. On that basis you may, for example:
- Refer to B28 by name in news, reviews, commentary, research, or comparison content.
- State truthfully that your service supports, integrates with, or works alongside B28, if that is actually the case.
- Link to joinb28.app or to our published materials.
When you do this, use only as much of our brand as you need to identify us, present the name and logo without alteration, and make clear that B28 is our brand and not yours. This notice does not limit any right you have under applicable law to refer to us fairly, including the honest-practices rights described above.
Prohibited uses
Outside fair nominative reference, and unless we have given you written permission, you may not:
- Use our name, logo, or brand assets in a way that suggests endorsement, sponsorship, affiliation, or partnership that does not exist.
- Modify, recolour, distort, animate, redraw, or combine the logo or wordmark with other elements, or recreate them in a different style.
- Use our brand in a confusingly similar mark, or in any name, logo, or design likely to be mistaken for B28.
- Use our brand on or near content that is unlawful, misleading, fraudulent, or that promotes scams, phishing, or impersonation. Be especially careful here: impersonating B28 to trick people into sharing a recovery phrase is one of the most common ways wallet users are defrauded. We never ask for your recovery phrase, and neither does anyone acting on our behalf.
- Register or use a domain, social handle, app listing, or token name containing "B28" in a way that misrepresents your relationship with us. We do not issue, endorse, or stand behind any token, coin, or financial instrument that uses the B28 name; any such token is not ours.
- Use our brand assets in merchandise, advertising, or commercial materials without our written consent.
Third-party names and marks
Names of blockchains, networks, assets, tools, and companies that appear in the B28 app or on our website belong to their respective owners. This includes Visa, and the 16 networks we support: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Tron, Solana, XRP, TON, Stellar, and Cardano, together with the range of assets we support and any on-ramp or swap partners we may name.
We use these names only to describe, in honest and nominative terms, the networks and assets the wallet works with and the services we surface. Their appearance does not mean those owners endorse B28, and it does not imply any partnership or affiliation beyond what we state in plain words elsewhere. We claim no rights in marks we do not own. To be accurate about our current product: in-app convert and swap is a live-rate preview that is rolling out, buy-with-card uses an on-ramp partner, and the B28 Visa card is coming and is not live today, so no live card relationship should be inferred from any use of the Visa name.
What our use of those names does not mean
B28 is a non-custodial wallet. Your keys and recovery phrase are generated and stored on your own device, and we never hold, control, or access your funds. Nothing in our brand, our use of network or partner names, or the swap fee we charge on in-app convert makes us a bank, an e-money institution, a crypto-asset service provider, a custodian, or an exchange, and we hold no such licence. In line with the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2023/1114), which records at Recital 22 that fully decentralised services without an intermediary, and at Recital 83 that providers of non-custodial wallet software, fall outside its scope, our wallet software sits outside the regulated crypto-asset perimeter. We describe the precise position, including how our convert and on-ramp arrangements work and how they are assessed against the crypto-asset service definitions in Article 3 of that Regulation, in our Terms and AML and sanctions notice. No marketing, brand, or partner-name use on this site should be read as a claim that B28 is regulated, licensed, or supervised as any of those things.
Requesting brand assets or permission
If you would like approved logo files, brand guidelines, or written permission for a use that goes beyond fair nominative reference, email hello@joinb28.app with a short description of how you intend to use them. Permission, where granted, is limited to the use we approve and may be withdrawn.
Reporting misuse or impersonation
If you see our brand being used to impersonate B28, to mislead people, or in a way that breaches this notice, please tell us at hello@joinb28.app. If the misuse involves a scam, a fake app, a phishing site, or anyone requesting a recovery phrase, you can also reach our security team at security@joinb28.app. Reports help us protect users and keep the brand trustworthy.
Governing law and your rights
This notice is governed by the laws of Estonia and the European Union. If you deal with us as a consumer, you keep the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live and the right to bring proceedings in your home courts, in line with the Rome I Regulation (Regulation (EC) 593/2008) and the Brussels I Recast Regulation (Regulation (EU) 1215/2012). Nothing here removes any right you cannot lawfully be made to give up.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as our brand and product develop. The current version always lives at /legal/trademark.
