B28 is committed to making our app and website usable by as many people as possible, including people who rely on assistive technology. This statement explains the standard we aim for, the legal framework, the measures we have taken, the limitations we are still working on, and how to reach us if you hit a barrier.
Our commitment
Accessibility is part of how we build B28, not an afterthought. We want everyone to be able to hold, send, and receive crypto, talk to the in-app agent, and read the Sentinel scam-shield warnings, regardless of how they navigate, see, hear, or interact with a screen. We treat accessibility as ongoing work: as we ship new features and refine existing ones, we keep checking that they remain usable for people with a wide range of needs.
Legal context, and why we publish this voluntarily
The European Accessibility Act (Directive 2019/882, applicable from 28 June 2025) sets accessibility requirements for a range of consumer products and digital services in the European Union, with the technical expectations aligned to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. The Act includes an exemption: under Article 4(5), microenterprises that provide services are not bound by its service obligations.
B28 OÜ is a microenterprise as defined in the Directive, meaning it employs fewer than 10 people and has an annual turnover or balance-sheet total not exceeding EUR 2 million. On that basis, the European Accessibility Act does not impose its service obligations on us, and this statement is therefore voluntary. We publish it because we believe accessibility is the right thing to do and because we want to be open about where we stand. If our size changes so that the exemption no longer applies, we will treat the Act's requirements as binding and update this statement accordingly.
This statement does not limit your rights. Where the law gives you mandatory protections, including the digital-services conformity rights described below, those continue to apply regardless of anything stated here.
The standard we aim for
Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium, are the widely accepted benchmark for digital accessibility and the reference the European Accessibility Act builds on. WCAG is organised around four principles: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.
We want to be honest about what this means. We are stating a genuine commitment and a target we design and build toward. We are not claiming full, independently certified conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA across every screen and every flow. We describe our conformance status as partially conformant: some areas already meet the standard, others are still being brought up to it, and we describe the known gaps below.
Scope of this statement
This statement applies to the B28 mobile app and the joinb28.app website. The app lets you hold, send, and receive crypto across 16 networks (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Tron, Solana, XRP, TON, Stellar, and Cardano) covering a range of assets, talk to a plain-language agent, and see Sentinel scam-shield warnings before you sign.
Measures we have taken
To work toward our target, we apply the following practices across the B28 app and the joinb28.app website:
- Semantic structure. We use meaningful HTML elements and accessibility roles so that screen readers can announce headings, lists, buttons, and form fields correctly, and so the reading order matches the visual order.
- Keyboard and assistive navigation. We work toward letting people operate the interface without a mouse or touch, including moving between interactive elements and activating controls using a keyboard or assistive technology.
- Visible focus states. Interactive elements are designed to show a clear focus indicator, so it is easy to see where you are on a screen as you move through it.
- Colour-contrast discipline. Our design system sets contrast rules for text and key interface elements so that content stays legible. We do not rely on colour alone to convey important information such as warnings and status.
- Reduced-motion support. Where the platform exposes a reduced-motion preference, we aim to honour it and tone down or remove non-essential animation for people who are sensitive to motion.
- Text alternatives. We aim to provide descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images, icons, and graphics so the information they carry is available to people who cannot see them.
- Clear, plain language. We write interface copy, warnings, and help content in plain language so that complex topics such as recovery phrases, irreversible transactions, and scam warnings are easier to understand.
Known limitations
We want to be straightforward about where we still fall short. This is honest, in-progress work, and the following areas may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA:
- Ongoing work. We are actively building and changing B28. Newer screens and features may not yet have been fully reviewed for accessibility, and some older areas are still being brought up to our target.
- Third-party content and services. Some parts of the experience rely on services we do not control, including the on-ramp partner used to buy crypto with a card and the live-rate convert and swap provider. We do not control the accessibility of third-party interfaces, and they may not meet the same standard. Underlying blockchain networks and any connected third-party services are likewise outside our control.
- Device and platform behaviour. Some accessibility features depend on settings and capabilities provided by your device, operating system, or browser, including biometric prompts and system-level preferences, which we do not control.
- Complex and dynamic content. Screens with frequently updating values, such as live price and rate previews, and richly visual elements can be harder to make fully accessible, and we are continuing to improve them.
Because B28 is a non-custodial wallet, your keys and recovery phrase are generated and stored on your own device behind biometrics, and on-chain transactions are final and cannot be reversed. We mention this because accessibility barriers must never lead to an unintended, irreversible action. If anything about confirming or signing a transaction is unclear or hard to use, please stop and contact us before continuing.
Your mandatory rights are not affected
The B28 wallet is provided free of charge, and you provide certain personal data in order to use it. Under European Union and Estonian consumer law, this is still a contract for the supply of a digital service, and it carries a mandatory conformity guarantee for digital content and digital services (Directive (EU) 2019/770, as transposed into the Estonian Law of Obligations Act). That means the service must meet the description, quality, and functionality you can reasonably expect, and you have remedies if it does not. Nothing in this statement, and nothing in our other terms, removes or limits that mandatory conformity guarantee, your other mandatory consumer rights, or the protections of the law of the country where you live. The honest framing above about in-progress accessibility work is a description of our voluntary target, not a waiver of any guarantee the law requires us to provide.
How to request help or report a barrier
If you encounter an accessibility barrier in the B28 app or on joinb28.app, or if you need information in a different format, please tell us. Contact hello@joinb28.app and, where you can, include:
- A description of the problem and what you were trying to do.
- The screen, page, or feature where it happened.
- The device, operating system, browser, and any assistive technology you were using.
For security reasons, never include your recovery phrase, private keys, passwords, or other secrets in any message to us. B28 will never ask you for them, and we cannot recover them if they are lost.
Feedback and our response commitment
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of B28, and we treat reported barriers as a priority. When you contact us at hello@joinb28.app, we will acknowledge your message within 5 working days, look into the issue, and tell you what we plan to do about it. Where a fix will take time, we will try to suggest a workaround so you can still complete what you set out to do. Your reports directly help us find and remove barriers we may have missed.
